No instruction, iffy suggested app on the back of the box, but continue to read.INDICATOR LIGHT: Green v.s. RedIt’s kind of confusing lol but this is how I think of it:Green:Means the timer is OffGreen for GO: it’s ok to press it to turn it on.Red:Means the timer is OnRed for STOP: don’t press it because the timer is already doing the work for youINSTRUCTIONS:The install was a breeze!Please excuse my electrical lingo as I am not an expert, just a cool diy wifey1. Turn the designated fuse off2. If you have a similar switch set up like ours you might get confused if you only see three wires connected to your *original ordinary switch. There should be a *separate **single or **bundled white “neutral” wiring(s). Ours is a bundle and ALL three fancy digital switches would connect to it. As you can see, our old timer was already connected into all 4: pos, neg, ground, and neutral. The ordinary switch was only connected in to 3: pos, neg, and ground. So to swap the ordinary switch to the fancy digital one, connect the 4th wire (white, neutral) to the single or bundled white neutral wire(s).3. Once all wirings are connected, turn the fuses back on.4. Turn switches on to confirm they work.Red indicator light should turn on.5. Connect your phone to your NON-5G wifi and turn your Bluetooth is on as well.6. FOR ME: The suggested app on the back of the box didn’t work properly. Gladly, I already own a few other BN-Link devices and already have the original *BN-Link app, or else I would’ve probably returned my purchase. So if the other app (suggested behind the back of the box) doesn’t work, download the *BN-Link one. They look and (should function) the same. The other just doesn’t work properly.7. Once’s downloaded, sign up and agree to let it have access to your network/data, and wifi. Carefully read all the pop ups as the other ones are only asking if you want junk e-mails and annoying notifications lol, and to track your location.8. Once app is downloaded and properly set up, press and hold the switches for a few seconds until it starts to blink green. “Fast blink” is about 3 blinks per 2 seconds.9. If the app doesn’t automatically detects it, go to the “Electrical” section, and choose “Switch (Wi-Fi)”.The app will proceed to the wifi window to let you type the password again if it didn’t remember it. Again, make sure you connected to the NON-5G network on the previous step.10. The switch should connect in less than 2 mins, and the switch light would turn off for a couple of seconds then turn on to solid green.It’s now linked to the app.11. You can now rename the switch to whatever you like.I haven’t tried (linked) the Alexa feature. The app alone already made a huge difference for my Millennial self.Not for someone’s room who doesn’t like any lights on.I replaced an old school, but perfectly working with 24hr timer with these. The old one was the best old school I found and put in to test that actually worked properly and that lasts. The only bad thing about it was that I couldn’t remove the housing to make it fit to the three-switches type of set up like ours. It was only meant to replace a single plate. So I had no choice but to leave the switch plate off, and it was just unsafely open like that. Big no no when you have a toddler around. I love, love these switches and their outlets for Christmas lights! I got four switches and will be getting more for around the entire house that could use a timer. I’ll even look into their other types products as I knew they are good quality and are fairly easy to work with.
