I found a lamp much like this one for nearly $500 - I was obsessed with the sleek, minimal look and the fact that it was a hybrid plug-in/wall sconce without needing an electrician or having an ugly dangling wire like most plug in sconces. I didn’t want to spend that much on a lamp, so I was THRILLED to come across this version for a fraction of the price.Like many other reviewers have noted, the hardware seems to have been swapped - the black lamp came with a brass connector tube, as well as brass screws that are used to hold the bracket to the wall, and are visible. I had even considered buying both colors of the lamp just so I could have all the correct parts for one. Instead, I ordered the black lamp and spray painted the brass connector black to match. I will likely paint over the screws as well.In terms of assembly - this took a looong time. The connector tube just would not close or sit right. I ended up having to remove two small plastic screws from the ends of each long piece that appeared to be protruding enough to prevent the tube from connecting flush - this did solve the problem.Another issue was that the wall bracket is supposed to screw onto a piece of the connector tube, but the wall bracket piece was slightly too wide so it would not screw on tightly/catch the treads, therefore there would be nothing to keep the lamp attached to the wall and from falling out of the bracket. Refusing to give up at this point I used some super glue I had on hand to affix the wall bracket to the lamp.Once it was all together, it’s very straightforward to install. The actual plug/prongs rotate, so you can plug into an outlet facing any direction (unfortunately my outlets were installed ground up, so I’m glad this worked!). Nothing will hold the lamp up until it’s anchored into the wall, so you will need someone or something to hold it while you drill holes for the anchors and screws. You’ll also want a good level to make sure you install straight - I have a laser level that shoots both horizontal and vertical lines and it was very helpful. It secured firmly to the wall, but the top pole is slightly wobbly (though this is unnoticeable).Overall it looks good and I’m happy to have saved hundreds to get this look. The bulbs it comes with are a nice warm white - they’re small chandelier lights in case you’re looking for a different brightness level or temperature…standard bulbs will not fit. The lamp is somewhere between ambient and bright - it’s very comfortable but will not light a very large room on its own.As someone who has assembled hundreds of things and is generally pretty handy, I have to admit that this lamp was kind of a pain, which is why removed a star. The end result, however, makes it all worth it for me and looks like a five star product!We ended up using command strips instead of drilling the light into the wall. The light is very bright and it doesn't have a yellow tint to it, it emits a soft very bright white light.It's okay but I wished it could be brighter and sturdier.Fun to build and easy to install!If you buy one make sure to check for styrofoam where you plug the bulb in because it gets stuck and built up.My only complaint is the bulbs. They’re bright and easy to install but they’re such a random bulb that if you have hopes of putting a smart bulb you should buy something else. Saddest part of the lampI have a condo style apartment and I don’t have much lighting. I didn’t want to get lamps or pendant lights. When I saw this it was the perfect solution. It plugs into the wall outlet and it has a switch that isn’t noticeable from the front. I love this, I was worried about the gold looking cheap but it doesn’t. And the light bulb they sent is a warm yellow and it’s bright enough to light up my dining area and part of the hallway. It is a 2 person job to install on the wall but it was fairly easy and it’s look amazing.This lamp is fun and brightEasy to install. Great looking and works great.
